10.30am Departure from Cathedral of The Assumption Carlow
Pilgrim Walk in honour of St Laserian’s Day from the Cathedral of the Assumption, Carlow (R93 E681), to St Lazerian’s Cathedral, Old Leighlin (R93 N958), with reflections provided by Dean Máirt Hanley.
Arrival in Old Leighlin is scheduled to allow attendance at the annual Ecumenical Service in the Cathedral and at the Holy Well.
The event is free; donations in support of the pilgrim walk and Old Leighlin Cathedral are appreciated. Please bring your own lunch.
The walk covers approximately 16 km.
A shorter walk option is available from St Brigid’s Graveyard, Tomard, departing around 2:00 pm. Transport back to Carlow will be provided at 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm. Parking is available at the Cathedral in Carlow.
A limited number of places will be reserved for those attending on the day, but advance booking is preferred.
